So much to do and see! We hope you plan to spend the day with us – Connect, Explore and Celebrate the Earth and our Community. Here are a few tips:
How do I get into the Blue Marble Jubilee?: Enter the fairgrounds at Gate 4 off of McCourtney Rd (map). The festival takes place in the Oak Grove area of the grounds and in Ponderosa Hall. Festival goers can enter through Gate 3 or via Gate 5 across from the Northern Mines building at our Main Street entrance.
What’s included with my entrance fee?: The majority of the activities on the Activities Green and those offered by the Nonprofit Booths are included with admission, however the Rock Wall and Bungee Run do have a small fee of $2 or 2 Event tickets. Entertainment on the Main Stage is part of your Jubilee experience.
What’s new this year?: This year Blue Marble has a theme: Save the Butterfly! Much of our decor, activities, and crafts will have a butterfly theme. We hope you’ll learn more about the Western Monarch Butterfly and how to save this beautiful and magical endangered species. In the afternoon at 4:30, we’ll have a Magical Butterfly Parade! Be sure to bring musical instruments, costumes, wings, and whatever will help to brighten the day. We are also featuring 2 Community Art projects – Origami Butterfly garlands as well as Pine Nut Bead Necklaces. Visit Ponderosa Hall to join the fun and add to the beauty
Do I need to have cash?: Blue Marble Jubilee will have Vendors of both merchandise and food. There will also be opportunities to purchase art and projects created by the students of Grass Valley Charter School. And you may want to check the Plant Sale with Milkweed starts for our Butterfly friends or the Green Screen Photo Booth. Most vendors should have the ability to take credit cards. However, the Libation Station, Rock Wall, Bungee Run and Photo Booth can only take cash or event tickets – those can be purchased with a credit card.
What is an Event Ticket?: Event tickets will be sold near the Libation Station and are essentially the same as cash. They can be purchased with a credit card and have a 1:1 value (1 ticket = 1 dollar).
I have a family ticket but we’re coming at different times: No problem. The first to arrive will surrender the ticket to our Will Call table for a wristband and those arriving later will get their wristband(s) by checking in at Will Call – Will Call is located at the Gate # 3 entrance.
I purchased my ticket online, what do I need to get in?: You should have received a confirmation email at the time of purchase. Please be prepared to show that email – you can do so by either printing it or showing it to the cashier on your mobile device.
I’m volunteering, how do I get in?: If you are working 3 shifts you will be given free entry to the festival. Otherwise, a wristband is required to enjoy the festival before or after your shift.
Is there anywhere to sit at the stage?: If you plan to sit and enjoy the music & entertainment or lounge on the grass, we suggest you bring a low back chair or blanket. There are a few benches and picnic tables nearby.
I bought a Blue Marble Jubilee pint glass last year, should I bring it?: Absolutely! But if you don’t have a glass or would like another, be sure to stop by the Event Ticket booth and pick up this year’s cup, it’s ORANGE, like the Monarch – a new cup purchase of $10 includes a free beverage of your choice.
Can I bring in my own food and beverages?: Yes, you can… however, we really hope you’ll try one of the many yummy food vendors at the festival.
What should I bring?: Don’t forget cash, a low back fest chair and /or blanket for seating, your butterfly costumes and your magical energy!
Can I bring my dog?: We welcome our furry friends if they are well behaved and on a leash at all times.
